The position will be announced at the GS-9 level with promotion potential to GS-12. The annual starting salary ranges from $47,448 to $61,678. All candidates must be U.S. citizens.

The USDA Federal Seed Regulatory Testing Division has announced that Dr. Richard Payne will be retiring at the end of 2011. Dr. Payne has served the Federal Government for more than 36 years and has been a tremendously valuable resource for virtually every state seed control official. He was frequently consulted for interpretations about seed law and guidance on enforcements. His willingness to assist state seed control officials was exceptional and much appreciated.
The Association of American Seed Control Officials (AASCO) will deeply miss Dr. Payne and his efforts to provide fair and consistent regulations that promote orderly markets for the U.S. seed industry.
