Tour: The second day of the conference will include a tour of Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve. This will include walking on sandy soils to tour the plots. Please let us know if you have accessibility needs so that we can accommodate you as best as possible.
Add-on attendee for tour and banquet: A family member, such as a spouse or partner, may join for the tour and banquet on the second day of the conference. If you would like to add-on a family member for the tour and banquet, the cost is $100 which may be paid in cash or by check at the conference.
Field Day Preparation: For those participating in the field day, we recommend bringing:
Sunscreen
A hat and sunglasses
Refillable water bottle
Closed-toe shoes suitable for walking outdoors
Weather-appropriate clothing
Minnesota weather in July can be warm and sunny, so please plan accordingly. We will provide water and snacks.
Hotel amenities include free made-to-order breakfast, on-site restaurant, room service, business center, indoor pool, fitness center, and complimentary evening reception at the hotel bar.
Parking Information:
If you are driving your own vehicle, only valet parking is available at the hotel for $60 per night. However, there are several parking facilities located within a few blocks of the hotel that offer lower daily rates tha hotel valet parking:
Downtown Auto Park (509 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55402) – open lot on same block as hotel.
City Center Ramp (10 S 7th St, Minneapolis, MN 55402) – 1 block from hotel.
Gaviidae Commons Parking Ramp (61 South 6th St, Minneapolis, MN 55402) – 1 block from hotel.
Ramp B Parking Garage (516 2nd Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55403) – 2 blocks from hotel.
Transportation from Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport (MSP):
The conference hotel does not offer a shuttle service, but it is accessible from the MSP Airport via the METRO Blue Line light rail.
Follow signs in the airport to the METRO Transit station.
Board the Blue Line toward downtown Minneapolis.
Exit at Nicollet Mall Station.
The hotel is a short walk (.2 miles) from the station.
